Family members have identified the deceased toddler found in north Edmonton on Friday as Anthony Joseph Raine.

A GoFundMe page has also been created to raise money for funeral expenses.

Edmonton police said Sunday afternoon investigators are in the process of interviewing the man and woman arrested Saturday night in connection to the toddler found dead in north Edmonton Friday night.

Officers were called to a church in the area of 155 Avenue and Castle Downs Road where a boy believed to be around 20-months-old was found dead outside by a passerby. EPS determined the boy was left there Tuesday morning.

A 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested Saturday night after police released surveillance footage of the two suspects with a stroller.

EPS believe the man and woman are responsible for the death of the toddler, and they are not looking for other suspects.

No charges have been laid.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.

A memorial to remember the boy is growing outside the Good Shepherd Anglican Church.

“I just thought it was important to come out here and show our remembrance to this little boy because this is our community,” Vanessa Vargas, who works at the nearby convenience store where the surveillance footage was taken, told CTV News.

Sunday’s service at Good Shepherd included a moment of silence for the boy dropped off near their back door, and the church is planning told hold a vigil next week.
