A man last seen three weeks ago in the Redwater area is now considered the victim of a homicide.

RCMP had been asking for help finding 56-year-old Randy Lopushinsky as he had not been seen or heard from since January 23.

His vehicle was found in a rural area northwest of Westlock, a week after his disappearance.

On Saturday, Mounties ruled the missing person’s case was now a homicide investigation.

Few details are being released and investigators have not said whether human remains have been found.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case.

Investigators are asking anyone who has information about this homicide to contact Red Water RCMP at 780-942-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
