Members of the Edmonton Fire Rescue Services' Technical Rescue Team participated in a series of specialized training exercises on Tuesday that saw members lowering each other down the side of ATB Place with ropes. The skills they practised today are required for midair rescues.
The team usually responds to emergencies involving heights, such as window washers on high rise buildings. Their skills also apply to rescues involving cranes, bridges or even the banks of the Edmonton river valley.
