Edmonton police have charged two Ontario women for a case involving the sexual exploitation of another woman.

Officials said the charges stem from incidents that occurred between September, 2013 and September, 2104 where the two charged allegedly benefitted financially from the sale of sexual services by another woman. The alleged acts took place in Alberta.

Nadine Brown, 38, from Niagara Falls and Yolanda Mohabeer, 22 , from Pickering have been charged with trafficking in persons, living on the avails of prostitution of an adult, assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The two women were arrested Wednesday.

Police continue to investigate as officials believe similar offences may have occurred in other provinces.

EPS Staff Sgt. James Clover has invited anyone with information to come forward to police.

“The EPS would also like to speak with anyone who has information in relation to the exploitation of those working in the sex industry,” Clover wrote in a press release.

Anyone who has information has been asked to contact police, 780-423-4567, #377 from a mobile phone or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
