EPCOR is warning customers about a possible phone scam that’s been making the rounds in the Edmonton area.
According to an EPCOR spokesperson, calls are being made to residents in Edmonton and surrounding areas demanding immediate payment, or the power will be shut off. EPCOR says they don’t demand payment over the phone, and hope the warning will prevent people from being taken advantage of.
Anyone who receives a suspicious phone call is asked to report it to EPCOR by calling 780-310-4300.
