Edmonton police released a composite sketch showing a suspect believed to have been behind an apparent attempted abduction at a transit centre in the city’s southeast.

Police said on Saturday, September 20, 2014, a 25-year-old woman reported a male suspect had approached her at about 8:45 a.m. at the Lakewood Transit Center.

She reported the man grabbed her, demanding that she come with him – when she started to scream for help, he fled on foot.

Investigators hope releasing a composite sketch of the suspect will help in their investigation.

“We’ve reached a point in the investigation where we are now asking [the] public to identify the man in [the] sketch,” Staff Sgt. Marc Cochlin with Southeast Division said in a press release.

“Although this crime took place two months ago, someone may recognize the man in the composite sketch.”

EPS said the suspect is described as:

  • Being of South Asian or Middle Eastern descent
  • 30 to 35-years-old
  • About 168 cm (5’6”) tall
  • Thin build
  • Short black hair with some grey on the sides
  • Brown eyes
  • Clean shaven

He was last seen wearing a waist-length grey jacket, dark blue pants and black shoes.
