Edmonton police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect wanted in connection to the shooting death of a man last week.

On Monday, August 25, a 20-year-old man was shot in an apartment suite located in the area of 105 Street and 83 Avenue.

That day, police first told CTV News the man had died – but later said he was in hospital in critical condition Monday night.

At some point in the following days, the man died – and police said the Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Sylvin St. Pierre, 20, with the cause of death a gunshot wound to the head.

No, police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Collin James Courteoreille, 20, for a number of charges including manslaughter while using a firearm and criminal negligence causing death by using a firearm.

Courteoreille is described as:

  • Aboriginal male
  • 183 cm (6’) tall
  • 73 kg (160 lbs)
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair

He has a scar beside his left eye, a curling snake tattoo on his left forearm and skull tattoos on his right forearm.

He’s believed to be armed and dangerous.
