The trial for a healthcare attendant charged with sexually assaulting disabled patients in an Edmonton long-term care home begins Monday.

Brandon Harper is facing three charges of sexual assault, which allegedly took place at the Good Samaritan Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre between 2011 and 2012.

According to police, officials from the centre reported their suspicious to them in July of 2012.

Police said one of the victims is severely disabled and the other has passed away.

Harper was granted bail in 2012 with several conditions including that he must keep a job or stay in school and not have any contact with the complainant.

The jury trial is set to begin at Edmonton’s Court of Queen’s Bench at 10 a.m.
