Police in central Alberta said Monday that an inmate who escaped from a minimum security facility was back in custody.

RCMP in central Alberta and the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) said Sunday that authorities were searching for an inmate who had escaped from the minimum security unit at Bowden Institution.

Officials said Kenton Matthew Boyle, 29, was not accounted for during the 11:45 a.m. count on Sunday, October 4.

A warrant for Boyle’s arrest was quickly issued by RCMP, and the search was on for the inmate.
