A 25-year-old man, with a graduated driver's licence, was allegedly caught driving four times the speed limit in a school zone when kids were in the area.

The Edmonton Police Service said a blue Dodge Ram was clocked travelling 122 km/h in a 30 km/h school zone Friday afternoon near 95 Avenue and 153 Street.

“This is extremely concerning,” said Staff Sergeant Barry Maron in a media release. “This individual is very lucky that no one was hurt as a result of his thoughtless actions.”

Brodie Christensen has been charged with dangerous driving and was issued a mandatory court summons.

He is expected in court on November 2.
