Police said the investigation into an early morning collision was underway, after a collision on the southwest leg of Anthony Henday Drive Wednesday.

Officers were called to the area east of the Cameron Heights turnoff in the westbound lanes of Anthony Henday Drive, at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

When police arrived, they found a 24-year-old male lying on the roadway suffering from multiple injuries.

Witness reports indicated the man had been riding a motorcycle, and he had been seen weaving in and out of traffic, and appeared to be squeezing between two semi-tractor trailers when he hit the side of one truck, and lost control of his motorcycle.

He was treated on the scene by paramedics, before he was taken to hospital where he was last reported to be in unstable condition.

The westbound lanes of the Henday were closed to traffic throughout the morning; police said they were expected to be open Wednesday afternoon.
