Northlands has fired all its parking cashiers after learning that more than a million dollars has been stolen.

An audit found evidence that money was being skimmed from between 12 to 19 per cent of transactions, according to Northlands.

The organization also says an investigation would have cost about $400,000, so instead it opted to fire all its cashiers and outsourced the service.

The number of cashiers that were let go has not been disclosed.

Northlands reassures customers that no credit cards were compromised.

The Edmonton Police Service says no complaint has been filed.
