An Edmonton woman is pleading with the public to help police find the driver who killed her husband in a hit and run on Rabbit Hill Road.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the collision, which happened on the night of October 5.

The victim, 46-year-old Paramjeet Sidhu, was hit as he was in a marked crosswalk at Hodgson Boulevard around 9:30 p.m.

Officials said the married father of two remained in hospital where he died Thursday, Oct. 23 as a result of his injuries.

"He had been in coma fighting, fighting for his life and finally he passed away,” Gurpreet Sidhu explained.

“It is a huge loss for the family and something we are going to live with for all of our life."

Police have asked for the public’s help tracking down the vehicle involved which they believe was a late model, four-door, light-coloured sedan.

They said the vehicle likely sustained damage to the front bumper, hood and possibly a cracked windshield on the passenger side.

"It's a huge loss for the family so please I plead, kindly come forward, and help us,” Sidhu said.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police 780-423-4567, #377 from a mobile phone or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
