Edmonton police have issued another safety warning after a second woman was assault in north Edmonton just a day after a similar attack.

Officials said officers  responded to an assault in an apartment complex parking lot at 118 Avenue and 102 Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday. 

According to police, a 46-year-old woman was walking in the parking lot when an unknown male approached and assaulted her.

They also said she briefly struggled with the man and called out for help.

The suspect then fled the area.

He has been described as:

  • Aboriginal male
  • Mid-30s
  • 5’8" tall
  • Medium build
  • Clean-cut, short brown hair
  • Wearing dark clothing

Police are concerned as it is the second report of an assault within 24 hours.

“However, at this time we have not established a clear link between these two events,” Staff Sgt. Shawna Grimes wrote in  press release.

The second assault was reported to have taken place on Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. in the area of 101 Street and 128 Avenue.
