Police have charged a 21-year-old after they said he was found with over $10,000 worth of cocaine.

Peace Regional RCMP said they arrested and charged Dakota Keewatin on multiple outstanding warrants on Friday, Aug. 29.

They also said he was found in possession of 55 grams of uncut cocaine. Officials estimate the drug has a street value over $10,000.

Keewatin has now been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Officials said they believed Keewatin was a member of the Family First street gang, known to police for their drug trafficking and violent offences.

He has been scheduled to appear in a Peace River court on Monday September 8.
