Edmonton police have released surveillance images of a male suspect believed to be responsible for a series of robberies at financial institutions around north central Alberta.

The three robberies took place between January 2 and January 16.

The first robbery took place in southwest Edmonton at 12:20 p.m. on Friday January 2. Police say the suspect produced a firearm and demanded cash from two bank tellers. After meeting his request, the suspect fled with an undisclosed sum of money.

The second robbery took place in Red Deer at the Bower Place shopping centre. At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday January 3, the man demanded money from the teller after displaying a firearm. The suspect left with an undisclosed sum of money.

Police detectives believe the suspect struck again on Saturday January 17 at a financial instruction in Camrose. Camrose RCMP say the suspect demanded money from a teller at gunpoint, leaving the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his early to mid-40's, between 5'5" to 5'8" with a thin build. He has brownish/grey course eyebrows, wears silver-framed glasses and speaks with a raspy voice.

He was last seen wearing a black and white torque, black coat and hoodie, and wearing black and white running shoes.
