Turnout at the advance polls this Thanksgiving long-weekend was up 16 per cent compared to the 2011 federal election.

On the first two days alone, 34 per cent more people across the country voted compared to the same period during the previous federal election.

According to Elections Canada, 2.4 million Canadians voted from Friday to Sunday, compared to 2.1 million over three days in 2011. A fourth day of advance voting was added for the 2015 federal election. 

Monday is the final day to cast a ballot in advance. Polls are open from noon until 8:00 p.m.

The federal election is October 19.
