RCMP are investigating, after a collision Wednesday evening left one person dead.
Wetaskiwin RCMP said officers were called to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 2A and Township Road 454 at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Early investigation results showed a southbound car was hit from behind by another car, and pushed into the path of a northbound truck.
A 56-year-old female driver died at the scene, but no one else was seriously hurt.
Investigators said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and the investigation continues.
