Red Deer RCMP are searching for two men who they believe assaulted a cab driver.

The incident happened at 8:40 on April 10, 2014. The two young men, who police believe to be in their late teens or early 20s took a taxi, and refused to pay the fare. When the driver attempted to stop them from leaving the cab, they allegedly assaulted him by punching and kicking him in the stomach.

The two suspects then fled southbound on Northey Avenue on foot. RCMP deployed cars and police services dogs, but could not locate the pair. 

The first suspect is described as white, between the ages of 20 and 24, and taller than 5'10" with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie, and his first name might be Mike.

The second suspect is described as white, between the ages of 18-21 and 5'5" to 5'9" with dark, curly hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a white hoodie and carrying a black backpack. His first name might be Jay.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.

The taxi driver is expected to fully recover from his injuries.
