RCMP in central Alberta said Monday that a man believed to have been involved in a number of sexual assaults early Sunday, was in custody.

Three Hills RCMP said a man was in custody Monday afternoon.

RCMP said in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, the male suspect broke into the dormitories at the Prairie Bible Institute, located in that community.

It’s alleged the suspect sexually assaulted a number of students while inside, before leaving, and fleeing the area on a bicycle.

RCMP are investigating. So far, police believe none of the victims were injured.

Surveillance cameras on the site captured images of the suspect police are trying to identify.

The suspect was described as being about 183 cm (6’) tall, heavy set/muscular, believed to be more than 90 kg or 200 lbs.

At the time, the suspect was reportedly wearing a green skull cap or toque, black jacket, jeans, white shoes, possibly has a tattoo on the right side of his neck, round face, and large, dark eyes.

On Monday, police said the suspect had turned himself in to police at 1 p.m. that day.
