The trial of a man accused of killing his common-law wife and her daughter will get underway Monday.

Edward John Chomiak has been charged with first degree murder in the death of Melody Chomiak, 45,  and Jerica Bouchard, 20.

He was charged after RCMP discovered the mother and daughter dead at a rural home near Falher, Alberta in December 2010.

Police said Chomiak was bound by condition of a restraining order under the Protection Against Family Violence Act.

The trial will be held at Peace River’s Court of Queen’s Bench and has been scheduled to run from May 4 to 8.
