Officials with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) said two adults had been arrested, after officers searched a Red Deer home.

Investigators said a search warrant was executed November 4, in a home located in the Lancaster Green area of Red Deer – and officers with ALERT and RCMP uncovered more than $60,000 worth of drugs was seized.

ALERT said the kitchen of the home was being used to convert cocaine to crack, and other drugs and drug paraphernalia was also found.

In addition, two young children were in the home at the time of the search, and were removed with help from the Central Region Child and Family Services.

The following items were seized: 415 grams of powder cocaine, 82 grams of crack cocaine, 76 grams of methamphetamine, 72 grams of marijuana, a Winchester rifle, $40,000 cash proceeds of crime, and two vehicles, a pickup truck and a sedan.

The two people arrested are the children’s parents, and won’t be identified in order to protect the identity of the children.

The pair is facing a number of drug and firearms-related charges, in addition to a charge of causing a child to be drug-endangered under Alberta’s Drug Endangered Children Act.
