Less than a week after a man in his 50s suffered serious injuries in an assault, police said that man had died.

Back on May 20, officers were called to the area of 151 Street and 111 Avenue, where officers found Randy Evans, 54, lying outside the front doors of a hotel.

The man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital by paramedics, but succumbed to his injuries several days later.

An autopsy had since bene conducted, and officials confirmed his death to be homicide – the cause of death in this case will not be released, police said.

The EPS Homicide Unit is also investigating whether an abandoned, stolen Dodge Durango, with an Alberta licence plate number BRR-5383 is connected to this incident.
