Anchor, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at Five

Joel Gotlib is CTV Edmonton's 5:00 PM co-anchor and noon anchor. Joel is an award-winning journalist and has worked in newsrooms across the country over the past 20 years.  He has covered many bases at CTV Edmonton, spending the past decade as a general assignment and breaking news reporter to anchoring and producing weekend newscasts and our late night news.  In 2013, Joel won the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association award for producer of Best News Series for the G4S Shooting.

Joel grew up in Toronto but Edmonton is home. He’s a graduate of Ryerson University's Radio and Television Arts program. Joel’s first job was with his alma mater as an audio instructor.

In 1992, Joel began working as a traffic reporter in Niagara Falls. Shortly after, he landed a job at CKWS TV in Kingston as a Sports Anchor and Reporter, then moved to Weather and Entertainment. In 1997 Joel headed west where he first joined the CTV News Team as a Noon anchor and general assignment reporter. In 1999 Joel moved to Winnipeg to anchor A-Channel's news@6. In 2004 Joel spent 6 months reporting and anchoring at Global Toronto, then returned to his CTV Edmonton family in September of 2004.

Joel always makes time to get involved with his community and volunteers with a number of organizations.
