Marni was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, lived in the small town of Vanguard, later moved to Moose Jaw and then attended university in Saskatoon.
She’s worked all over western Canada, starting out in radio in Williams Lake, B.C., before moving back to Saskatchewan to work at CTV Regina, eventually landing in Edmonton where she now lives with her family.
Marni holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, and a broadcast news diploma from SAIT in Calgary.
She’s been emcee for a number of events including the Walk to Remember, the Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk, Terry Fox Run, United Way, Mac and Cheese Luncheon, Autism Society Gala, and Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone. She’s also served at the inner city lunch at Boyle Street Co-op.
When Marni isn’t anchoring News at Noon, or emceeing various functions, she likes to run, swim, bike, and do pilates and yoga – in fact, Marni is a certified fitness instructor who has done triathlons and a number of charity races. She has also run in the Canadian Death Race.
