A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision on Wayne Gretzky Drive.

Edmonton police were called out to 78 Street, just north of 101 Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Insp. Regan James told CTV News a man, in his 30s or 40s, was seriously injured in the incident.

“Unfortunately he laid the bike down in the gravel and sustained some relatively serious injuries. Not life threatening but still serious facial injuries.

“From witnesses it indicates speeding a little bit, some erratic driving.”

Insp. James warns motorcycle drivers that the gravel on roads creates dangerous conditions.

He added that the driver also side-swiped another vehicle in the incident.
