In an effort to make it easier for Edmontonians to get in touch with city services, the City of Edmonton rolled out it’s long-awaited ‘311’ app.

Starting Monday, residents who download the free app on their iPhone or Android smartphone can contact 311 services.

Officials said Edmontonians can use the app to take a photo of a service issue, such as potholes, damaged sidewalks and graffiti – GPS services on the phone pinpoints the location of the issue – and the photo and description are uploaded to 311 services.

The 311 contact centre then passes the information onto the city department in charge of dealing with it.

The app can be found on the iTunes App Store or Google Play – Edmontonians can also get in touch with 311 services by calling 311, or by visiting the 311 Online website.
