The new leader of the Progressive Conservative Party was sworn-in as Premier of Alberta in a ceremony Monday afternoon.

Jim Prentice became Alberta’s 16th premier in a ceremony held at Government House.

Prentice takes over from Dave Hancock, who took over as premier when former premier Alison Redford stepped down in March.

The new premier said his priority is to clean up the scandals of the Redford era, and get the province back on track.
