One man is dead after a fiery fatal highway collision northeast of Edmonton.
Two Hills RCMP say they were called to a collision on Highway 29 near St. Michael, Alta. on Saturday.
Police say a vehicle was on fire and occupants were trapped inside.
A man was found dead at the scene and another man was airlifted to University of Alberta Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.
People travelling in the area are being credited for risking their own safety to rescue the man who survived from his burning vehicle.
Highway 29 was shut down to traffic for several hours while crews investigated.
Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The name of the deceased is not being released out of respect for the family.
St. Michael is located about 78 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
