Edmonton police said a man in his 20s was in hospital, after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning.

Police said at about 7:15 p.m., officers were called to the area of 113 Avenue and 95 Street, after a collision was reported.

Reports indicated a small SUV was travelling northbound on 95 Street, when it’s alleged the vehicle struck a male pedestrian in his 20s. Investigators said the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.

The pedestrian was treated on the scene and taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, identified as a 45-year-old man, was not injured and is cooperating with police.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
