Edmonton police are handling the death of a teenaged male in a townhouse on the north side as a homicide.

Police said Tuesday, results from the autopsy that was conducted Monday showed the young male, who died in a townhouse complex at 132 Avenue and 47 Street was murdered.

Investigators said the victim’s name, and the cause of death will not be released, citing the ongoing investigation.

Last Friday, police were called to the home just after 6 a.m., on reports of a ‘male in distress.’

Officers on the scene told CTV News family members were inside the home when they arrived, and some of those family members were taken in for questioning.

Other family members said a mother lived in the home, with her three children – two girls and a boy.

On Friday, family members said the deceased is about 17-years-old.
