Edmonton Police are on the lookout for two people in relation to a sexual assault that took place in early June – one of those people is the suspect, and the other helped stop the incident.
Police said the alleged assault took place around 2 am on Sunday, June 3 – where an 18-year-old woman was walking with a friend along Jasper Avenue, between 107 Street and 108 Street.
A man allegedly approached her, and appeared to befriend her – leading her away from her friend.
It’s believed the man then sexually assaulted her – but a Good Samaritan intervened, confronted the suspect and stopped the assault.
The Good Samaritan then escorted the woman, who had sustained minor injuries, home.
The suspect is described as:

- Approximately 177 cm (5’10”) tall
- About 77 kg (170 lbs)
- Short, dark blond hair
At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
"We are hoping the Good Samaritan will be able to help us with information that will further our investigation," Edmonton Police Service Cst. Rick Geenen said.
Anyone with information that could help police identify the suspect or the Good Samaritan, is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
