Police still investigating slaying of a couple, shot dead in their home in March, 2016

EPS roped off a home in the area of 49 Ave. and 213 St. on Wednesday, March 23, as detectives investigated a suspicious death inside.

Homicide detectives are marking one year since a couple was shot to death in their home in southwest Edmonton in March, 2016 – and said they’re still looking for a break in the case.

Back on March 23, 2016, the bodies of Irfan Ahmed Qureshi, 37, and Suzanne Marie Tran, 27, were found in the bedroom of a home in the area of 49 Avenue and 213 Street.

An autopsy confirmed the couple died from multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were Edmonton’s 7^th and 8^th homicides of that year.

Investigators released surveillance video Wednesday, showing a suspect vehicle near the scene of the homicide – in the hopes tips from the public will help the investigation move forward.
