Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an alleged carjacking west of downtown Thursday evening.

Police said the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 124 Street and 102 Avenue – it was reported that the woman had went out to her vehicle when she was approached by a man.

It’s alleged that suspect produced a gun, and demanded the keys to her car – the woman complied and wasn’t hurt.

Later on, police searching for the suspect found the stolen vehicle in the area of 118 Street and 103 Avenue.

After the incident, a police sketch artist worked with the victim to determine what the suspect looked like.

The suspect is described as:

  • Dark-skinned
  • 172 cm (5’8”) tall
  • Pock-marked face

The suspect was reportedly wearing gray sweat pants, a dark shirt, round glasses and a beige fisherman’s hat at the time.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him is advised to contact police.
