Edmonton police hope a composite sketch will lead to information that could help investigators identify a suspect believed to have sexually assaulted and robbed a woman in her own home.

Police said on Saturday, June 27, officers were called to the area of 106 A Avenue and 96 Street, where it was reported that a 54-year-old woman was allegedly confronted outside of her home, forced back inside, and sexually assaulted by a male suspect.

It was reported the suspect then threatened her, and robbed her – before fleeing southwest on foot from the home.

“This was a very brazen occurrence, as it happened in broad daylight,” Detective Dave Pelech said in a press release. “We are looking to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect and we encourage anyone who has information to come forward.”

The suspect is described as:

  • Having a dark complexion
  • About 29-years-old
  • Has gap between upper teeth
  • Straight nose
  • Believed to be about 170 cm (5’7”) tall
  • Thin build
  • Beard and mustache

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with three-quarter length green sleeves, with jeans and a black, straight-brimmed, baseball cap. He was wearing high-top black runners with black laces.

Police also released a composite sketch showing the suspect.
