Edmonton Police are asking for help from the public in locating a man who’s believed to have attacked a woman earlier this month.

Police said officers were called to a reported disturbance in a townhouse, in the area of Hooke Road in northeast Edmonton, at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13.

It’s believed a male resident assaulted a 25-year-old woman, who was also living in the home.

According to police, the woman was punched and kicked – and paramedics treated her on the scene, before taking her to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived, and since then, he hasn’t been found.

Now, police said Gerald Paul Brown, 27, is wanted on a warrant for aggravated assault.

Brown is described as:

  • 172 cm (5’8”) tall
  • 74 kg (163 lbs)
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair

The suspect also has pierced ears.

Brown is also considered to have a pattern of violent behaviour, and is not to be approached.

Anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
