Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect believed to be involved in a hit and run that took place in late July.

Police said the male suspect was believed to be behind the wheel of a car that hit a man sleeping on the ground in the area of 100 Avenue and 117 Street in the early hours of July 20, 2014.

The suspect was seen entering Steamworks Bathhouse at about 2 a.m. that morning, and leaving at about 4:24 a.m.

It’s believed the suspect then got into a BMW Z6 that was parked behind the Jewish Seniors Centre.

It was reported the suspect then drove the car forward, pushing and dragging a man who was sleeping on the ground at the time, before leaving the scene.

The man sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries in the incident.

Police released photos of the suspect, and are asking anyone with information that could help police to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
