Northern Alberta RCMP are asking for help from the public, as they try to track down two suspects wanted in connection to two weekend home invasions that left two suffering from serious injuries.
Boyle RCMP said the incidents took place on the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, located about 160 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, just east of Boyle, early Saturday morning.
Police said a 79-year-old man was seriously injured after the two suspects kicked in his front door, before confining the two other residents of the home to a separate room – and allegedly beating and stabbing the victim.
The suspects reportedly unsuccessfully tried to steal the first victim’s car – before breaking his nose and elbow, and fleeing the scene.
It’s then believed the two suspects moved on to the second home, where the woman who lived there let them in to use the phone – before the suspects assaulted her and stole her vehicle.
Police have issued Alberta-wide arrest warrants for the suspects, who have been identified as Dakota Boudreau, 20, and David Boudreau, 41.
Dakota Boudreau is described as:
- 178 cm (5’10”) tall
- 102 kg (225 lbs)
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
David Boudreau is described as:
- 175 cm (5'9") tall
- 86 kg (189 lbs)
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
Investigators are also looking for the vehicle that was stolen in the incidents, which they described as a medium gray, 2005 Cadillac Escalade EXT Sport Pickup, with an Alberta licence plate HMU 232.
RCMP said since the incidents, the female victim has been treated and released, while the male victim is still in hospital.
Anyone who sees the suspects are warned the pair is considered dangerous and should not be approached, and if they are seen, police should be immediately contacted.
Police are asking anyone with information on the case, or the suspect’s whereabouts, to call Boyle RCMP at 780-689-4081 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
