RCMP have made an arrest after a child fired a rifle while unsupervised in a parked vehicle in Fox Creek.

Officials said two parents left three children, ages one to six-years-old, alone in the vehicle while they went into a house.

The eldest child found the rifle on the passenger’s seat and discharged it out the driver’s side.

No one was injured and the names of those involved will not be released.

There was no word on whether charges would be laid.

Fox Creek is located about 259 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
