At about 10:30 p.m. on August 29, Spruce Grove RCMP and fire crews were called to the scene of blaze at 77 Aspenglen Drive – an area of new construction.
Officials said no damage was sustained due to the location of the fire, but those responsible had piled up scrap wood and plastic, lit it on fire, then fled.
According to RCMP, the incident is of particular concern due to a rash of fires in the Spruce Grove area over the summer .
The investigation is ongoing.
Police are asking for help from the public in reporting any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles.
