Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating, after two men were found dead inside a home in Chipman, Alberta, late Sunday night.
RCMP said officers were called to suspicious deaths inside a home in the village at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
When they arrived, two men were found dead.
Neighbours told CTV News the two men were shot on the front porch, and the home where the shooting happened has been the scene of a number of disturbances and police calls in recent years.
Don Henderson lives next door, and described the events of Sunday night.
“I heard five gunshot sounds, one after another,” Henderson said. “We ran up there, we saw a man laying at the bottom of the steps with gunshots to the head.”
Henderson said the second man was lying in the doorway of the home.
He said he recognized one of the victims as the neighbour from across the road – Terry Sutton. Others on the street told CTV News Sutton’s friend from outside of Alberta was also killed.

Sutton is a father of four, one of his children is less than 2-years-old, and all of them were home with their mother when shots rang out.
“The most painful thing was watching the children,” Henderson said. “They could see everything from their back deck, and seeing four children watch their father get murdered.”
One male suspect has been taken into custody, and police said they were treating the incident as a homicide. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
This is not believed to be random, and RCMP said there is no risk to public safety.
Autopsies have been scheduled for Tuesday.
Chipman is located about 75 kilometres east of Edmonton.
