Police in northern Alberta are investigating a fatal crash that left one dead early Friday morning.
Whitecourt RCMP said officers were called to the two vehicle collision at the intersection of Dahl Drive and Highway 43 at about 6 a.m. Friday.
The crash involved an SUV and a Whitecourt Municipal Fire Rescue Tanker.
Investigators said the tanker was responding to a structure fire at the time of the crash, and witnesses reported the tanker’s emergency equipment had been activated.
The female driver of the SUV, and only person inside, was pronounced dead.
RCMP are still investigating.
