An RCMP officer in Stettler is recovering from minor injuries after his police cruiser was rammed by a stolen truck just before midnight on Monday.

Police say officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in an industrial area of Stettler.

The driver of the truck accelerated and allegedly drove directly at a police vehicle, ramming its front corner and pushing it back about three metres.

The RCMP officer in the vehicle was brought to the local hospital as a precaution, but he's since been released.

The three people in the stolen vehicle were arrested.

One of the passengers, Christopher Weich, 28, has been charged with possession of stolen property. The other passenger, Brady Shivak, 33, has been charged with possession of stolen property and crystal meth.

Charges against the 20-year-old man driving the truck are pending.
