Red Deer RCMP are on the lookout for two suspects, believed to be behind a number of thefts from staff rooms at a variety of businesses in recent weeks.

Police said employees at nine different businesses have experienced a number of thefts since Dec. 1.

It’s believed the suspects enter businesses posing as customers, wait until staff are distracted and then enter unsecured staff rooms – stealing items such as purses, wallets, car keys and cell phones.

Investigators said the thefts are not often noticed until the victimized employee’s shifts are over, which leaves the suspects enough time to escape unnoticed.

Based on surveillance video, investigators said they’re looking for two suspects, the male suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • About 25-years-old
  • Dark hair, either brown or black
  • Approximately 72.5 kg (160 lbs)

The female suspect is described as:

  • About 20-years-old (unknown descent)
  • Pock-marked face
  • Pink hair
  • Has worn pink slippers in previous incidents

As a result of the case, RCMP are reminding businesses and employees to secure valuables while they are working.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help investigators in this case, to call Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575 or submit a tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
