Police in St. Albert are trying to track down a suspect, who is believed to have broken into a vehicle earlier in the week, and then used a credit card stolen from that vehicle.

RCMP said in the early hours of July 27, an unknown suspect, or suspects, broke into a locked Jeep Compass that was parked on the back parking pad of a home on Sturgeon Road. The only thing stolen from that vehicle was a credit card that had been left inside.

At about 4 a.m. that morning, an unknown man tried to use the stolen credit card at the 7-11 on St. Anne Street to buy gift cards. He wasn’t successful, and he fled.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, at the time, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black track pants and a grey and black toque.

Anyone with information that could help RCMP identify the suspect is asked to call 780-458-7700 or local police.
