Chef Edgar's Churro Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 4 cups of flour
  • 5 cups of water
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1tsp of allspice
  • Canola oil for deep frying

Cinnamon sugar

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of sugar

Directions:

In medium sized pot - bring water to a boil, then add butter and simmer for 5 minutes. Add flour tsalt and the allspice to pot of water and butter. Mix dough thoroughly. Remove from heat, then let the dough cool for 30 min.

Preheat oil in a large pot to 375f. Place dough in a piping bag and pipe out the dough in the hot oil in 2-3 inch sections. Fry for 5 min or until golden brown. Remove churros from oil and place on a paper lined plate. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve.
