Edmonton police announced Thursday that rewards for information that could help solve five more homicides, had been increased to $40,000.

Police said the rewards were increased for the slayings of Dylan Koshman, David Labelle, Robert Loyer, Gherezghiher (Gary) Yemane, and Leonardo Duran Ibanez.

Koshman, 21, disappeared on October 11, 2008 from his south side home, and the circumstances of his disappearance are suspicious – he hasn’t been seen or heard from since that day. The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation

Labelle, 30, was murdered November 2, 2014 in a home near 133 Street and 155 Avenue, police said there were a number of people present at the time of the incident

Loyer, 46, was found seriously hurt in the area of 106 Avenue and 96 Street on May 5, 2016. He later died in hospital due to injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. Police said in this case, a number of people were seen fleeing the area where the assault took place

Yemane, 63, was out for a walk in northeast Edmonton on May 27, 2016 when he was shot multiple times in the area of Ozerna Road. Homicide investigators believe he was randomly targeted

Ibanez, 42, of Colombia, was killed November 13, 2016. Police said he was walking home late at night, with a friend, in the area of 119 Avenue and 97 Street when he was confronted by a group of people. He was assaulted, and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital

The new rewards are available to the public for a three-year period, and will be awarded for information that leads investigators to arrests and charges in connection to these cases – including these five cases, police said there are a total of 36 cases with $40,000 rewards for information.
