A major roadway in west Edmonton was closed for several hours Friday morning, due to a multi-vehicle crash.

Police said the crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Whitemud Drive westbound, approaching Anthony Henday Drive.

Five vehicles were involved in the crash, and it’s believed at least two people were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed as police investigated and crews cleaned up the crash.

Police said the roadway was reopened just before 2 p.m. Friday.
