RCMP say the man accused of shooting and injuring two Mounties has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of his uncle.

Sawyer Robison is facing two charges of attempted murder related to an incident in February at a farmhouse near Killam, Alta. where two RCMP officers were shot and injured.

Robison's uncle Bradford Clarke was later found dead at the residence.

Robison has pleaded not guilty to two charges of attempted murder and a number of weapons charges. He was released on bail in June.

Police announced Wednesday that Robison was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on Tuesday.

Robison has been remanded to appear in Court of Queen's Bench in Wetaskiwin on Oct. 30.

Police say no further information is available due to a publication ban.
