A number of gas stations operated by Shell in the Edmonton area have run dry, an issue the company says they’re working on.
On Friday, Shell said more than half of their stations in the Edmonton are out of fuel.
A spokesperson for Shell told CTV News that unplanned maintenance at the company’s Scotford Refinery is still taking place – that, coupled with high demand due to the summer driving season has led to the stations running out.
The company said officials are “exploring every available option for refilling stations that have run out of fuel”.
